Agistri: A charming green oasis

An unspoilt nature lovers paradise and an ideal stopover on your sailing holiday that looks and feels like a living postcard of everything that Greek summer is known for.

Located only 20 nautical miles away from Alimos marina (and 3 nm south-west of Aegina) and well known for its turquoise waters, sandy beaches and lush pine tree forests, Argosaronic’s tiny ‘fishing hook’ (the meaning of its name in Greek) is both beautiful and peaceful since it has fewer than 1,000 inhabitants. From the first moment you step of your yacht charter on family-friendly Skala or Megalochori port, you can feel the aroma of ouzo and grilled octopus gently blend with that of the wild oregano and pine from the surrounding hills.

Besides drinking, eating and swimming, Agistri has, even more, to offer to its visitors such as horse riding on the beach, diving and a variety of waters sports. You can also learn about its nature and history through a kayaking tour or hike towards the church of Virgin Mary above beautiful Metochi village (one of the island’s four villages) where a grand religious festival is held on August 15th. Don’t leave without making time to thoroughly explore with your sailing boat its surrounding islets of Metopi, Dorousa, Kira, Spalathronisi or stunning Aponisos. Every one of them is different and full of surprises.

Sail and Swim

  • The ideal sunset spot of pristine Dragonera beach.
  • The remote Halkiada nudist beach with its trademark azure waters.
  • The rocky beach of Mareza that is surrounded by a pine tree forest.

Ports & anchorages

The main port of Agistri is shallow Skala but Megalochori port, where the local fishing fleet docks, is a better fit for your sailing boat since it offers excellent shelter except strong NE – SE winds. Another convenient option is beautiful Aponisos islet on the west coast of Agistri or the stunning Dorousa isle.
